This page explains how athensyachtsrental.com uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you browse our yacht charter site from Athens. It is written for anyone visiting the site, whether you are comparing yachts, filling in an enquiry, or tapping a WhatsApp button to reach us.

Storage used on this site

Cookie-notice acknowledgement
Remembers that you closed the cookie notice so it does not reappear. Local storage, stays until you clear your browser storage.
Selected yacht
Remembers which yacht you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled. Session storage, deleted when you close the tab or send the form.
Visit measurement identifiers
Random visitor and session identifiers generated by our own first-party script, used only to count visits. Local storage, expires 30 days after your last visit.
Google Fonts
Loads the typefaces shown on the site. Third-party request to Google; Google receives your IP address. No cookie is set for us.
intl-tel-input (jsDelivr CDN)
Loads the script that formats the phone number field in the enquiry form. Third-party request to the jsDelivr CDN; the provider receives your IP address. No cookie is set for us.

What do we mean by cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small piece of text that a website can ask your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Browsers also offer local storage and session storage, which work the same way but are not called cookies in the technical sense; we use that distinction below because it affects what each entry actually does.

athensyachtsrental.com does not set any cookie of its own. We also install no tool built for analytics dashboards, advertising networks or social platforms from other companies. What the site does use is described honestly in the sections below.

How do we measure visits to the site?

We count visits with a short script served from our own domain, not from any outside analytics company. It records which pages you viewed, how long you stay on a page, the site that referred you, any marketing code attached to the link you followed (for example an ad click identifier), your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the country worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.

If you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so we can see which channel brought you to us. This measurement runs without placing any cookie on your device.

What does the site keep in your browser?

Three small entries are kept in your browser's local or session storage, listed in the table above: one remembers that you closed the cookie notice, one remembers the yacht you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled, and one holds the random identifiers used for our visit counting, which clears itself 30 days after your last visit. None of them contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail.

The WhatsApp buttons on the site do not set anything in your browser. Tapping one simply opens WhatsApp with a prefilled message; the click itself is recorded in our booking system in the same way as a page view, and the conversation that follows runs on WhatsApp under Meta's own terms, outside our control.

Do any outside services receive data when the page loads?

Two outside services are called when a page on our site loads:

  • Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on the site; Google receives your IP address when your browser requests the font files.
  • The jsDelivr content delivery network, which supplies the intl-tel-input library used for the phone number field in our enquiry form; the provider receives your IP address when the file is requested.

Neither of these services sets a cookie for us, and we do not use either for advertising or audience tracking.

How can you control this, and what happens if it changes?

You can review, block or delete local storage and session storage at any time through your browser's settings, usually under privacy or site data; doing so will simply mean the cookie notice reappears, the selected yacht is forgotten, and a fresh visitor identifier is created on your next visit. Deleting storage does not affect any enquiry you have already sent us.

Greek rules implementing the European ePrivacy framework govern how we may store or read information on your device, and the Hellenic Data Protection Authority supervises compliance with them. If we ever introduce an optional cookie, for example for a feature you choose to activate, we will ask for your consent first through the site before it is set, and we will update this page to describe it.
